Join iDempiere at Hacktoberfest 2024: Contribute, Learn, and Grow!
We are excited to announce that iDempiere will participate again in the Hacktoberfest 2024! 🎉 This is an incredible opportunity for community members of all experience levels to contribute to the growth of the iDempiere open-source community, and make meaningful contributions to one of the leading open-source ERP systems.
This year, four iDempiere repositories will be participating in Hacktoberfest:
- iDempiere Core: The main repository where all the magic happens! Contribute to new features, fix bugs, or help optimize our ERP engine.
- iDempiere REST: Work on the API layer of iDempiere, enabling external integrations and modern web applications to interact with the ERP.
- iDempiere Documentation: Help improve or create new documentation for iDempiere. Your contributions here ensure that users and developers alike can navigate the platform with ease.
- iDempiere Docker: Contribute to the containerization of iDempiere, improving how the ERP is deployed and managed in Docker environments.
What is Hacktoberfest?
Hacktoberfest, organized by DigitalOcean, GitHub, and other partners, is an annual event that celebrates open-source contributions worldwide. Throughout the month of October, developers are encouraged to contribute to various projects by submitting pull requests to repositories on GitHub and GitLab.

I believe the enterprise world is one of the most aggressive environments out there. Companies tend to ruthlessly compete against each other. That is why seeing competitors co-exist and cooperate in harmony in iDempiere (and OSS communities in general) is so interesting to me.
